Introduction

Bachelor in Information Technology (BIT) is a 4-year (8 Semesters) undergraduate (Bachelor’s) course offered by Tribhuvan University under the Faculty of Institute of Science and Technology (IOST).
BIT provides a strong foundation in computer science, programming, and information technology with technical knowledge and practical skills aimed at producing skilled software developers, programmers, etc., opening doors to rewarding careers in IT and technology. Eligibility

You must fulfill some criteria set by the Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), TU to enroll in this course. Some BIT eligibility criteria are:

  1. Attend and pass the BIT Entrance Exam conducted by IOST.
  2. Grade 12 (any faculty) with:
  3. Must have studied English (compulsory),
    Mathematics or Computer (choose) of 100 marks passed with a minimum C grade.
  4. Second Division (40-60%) for non-grading system.
  5. Minimum C (1.6) in all other subjects and an overall 1.8 CGPA.
  6. Similar requirements a for PCL or Diploma students.

  7. A-Level:
  8. English and Mathematics or Computer of 100 marks with a minimum D grade (capital or small)

Overview

BIT covers topics from information to IT, including web development, software engineering, DSA, DBMS, and networking, as well as advanced topics like AI, machine learning, and many more across 4 years (8 semesters). It includes programming languages like C, JAVA, Python, PHP, and all known popular languages, at least taught at a surface level.
