Introduction
Bachelor in Information Technology (BIT) is a 4-year (8 Semesters) undergraduate (Bachelor’s) course offered by Tribhuvan University under the Faculty of Institute of Science and Technology (IOST).

Eligibility
You must fulfill some criteria set by the Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), TU to enroll in this course. Some BIT eligibility criteria are:
- Attend and pass the BIT Entrance Exam conducted by IOST.
- Grade 12 (any faculty) with:
- Must have studied English (compulsory),
Mathematics or Computer (choose) of 100 marks passed with a minimum C grade. - Second Division (40-60%) for non-grading system.
- Minimum C (1.6) in all other subjects and an overall 1.8 CGPA.
- Similar requirements a for PCL or Diploma students.
- A-Level:
- English and Mathematics or Computer of 100 marks with a minimum D grade (capital or small)
Overview
BIT covers topics from information to IT, including web development, software engineering, DSA, DBMS, and networking, as well as advanced topics like AI, machine learning, and many more across 4 years (8 semesters). It includes programming languages like C, JAVA, Python, PHP, and all known popular languages, at least taught at a surface level. This course might be perfect for students who want to start a career in IT. Moreover, this course is very similar to BCA. 
Career
You can make your career from BIT in absolutely any field you are passionate about. For example, it might be software engineering, AI engineering, frontend/backend development, or maybe working with other areas. You can be anything as long as you have the foundation of CS with BIT and knowledge beyond the syllabus, focusing on building real-world and in-demand skills.
Fees
BIT college fees range between Rs 3 Lakhs to 14 Lakhs. Private colleges may guarantee internship or placement opportunities and other facilities with their own price tag. On the other side, BIT government colleges have fixed and cheaper fees, i.e., under 4 Lakhs. Private colleges are negotiable, and fees vary according to students, their connections, communication (negotiation) skills, their grades, etc.
5 to 6 Lakhs is a competitive fee between most colleges for BIT.
